Prof. Ahmet TEKİN
Director General


Professor Tekin was born in the province of Karaman in 1972. He completed primary and secondary education in Karaman, and in 1996 graduated from the Atatürk University School of Medicine.

He held the position of Institute Physician of the Karaman Courthouse and Prison between 1996 and 1997. In 1998 he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Anatomy at the Atatürk University School of Medicine. He qualified as a General Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery at the Selçuk University School of Medicine in 2004, and worked at a private hospital as a medical specialist for a period of one year. Between 2005 and 2006 he worked as a Specialist Research Assistant in the Department of General Surgery at the Selçuk University School of Medicine. In 2006 he was appointed an Assistant Professor, and in 2006 – 2007 he received training on solid organ (Liver, Kidney and Pancreas) transplantation at the Akdeniz University Organ Transplantation Practice and Research Center. Professor Tekin was granted the title of Associate Professor in 2010, and between 2012 and 2015 he held the position of Deputy Chief Physician in the Necmettin Erbakan University School of Medicine Hospital, where in 2015 he was appointed Chief Physician. Simultaneously with the position of Chief Physician, he also held the position of Director of the Organ Transplantation Practice and Research Center.

On 22.10.2018 Professor Tekin was appointed Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, and currently holds this position. He is the author of more than 100 published articles and research papers, many of which were published in international journals. He is married with three children.
